Change timings in Environment Control Workspace in The Grid 2

When using the environment control workspace to send Infra red commands, the commands are normally sent with a 1.5 second pause between each transmission. This works well for most devices but occasionally it is necessary to change the timing. This setting can be changed by manually editing the file “Environment Control.xml” with a text editor.

  1. In windows explorer, locate and make a backup copy of the file “C:\Users\Public\Documents\Sensory Software\The Grid 2\Environment Control.xml”
  2. Open the file with Notepad or similar text editor.
  3. The file will start:
    <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”utf-8″ ?><environmentcontrol>
    <transmitters>
    <general></general>
  4. In the <general> section, add an element <pausebetweenactions> with the desired time in miliseconds. For example to change the interval to 0.5 seconds, the file will start:
    <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”utf-8″ ?><environmentcontrol>
    <transmitters>
    <general>
    <pausebetweenactions>500</pausebetweenactions>
    </general>

You will need to restart The Grid 2 for the changes to take effect.
