Using your iCloud Email account with Grid 3

iCloud now require a 2-step authentication for all email applications, including Grid 3.

Detailed below are instructions on how to set this up:

• Visit My Apple ID
• Click Manage your Apple ID
• Use your iCloud Mail email address in the Apple ID field
• Use your iCloud Mail password
• Click Sign In
• If prompted, enter your answers to the security questions
• Under Security > Two Factor Authentication select Get started…
• Click Continue under Two-step verification for Apple ID
• Click Continue again
• Now click Get Started
• Click Add a phone number… under Step 1 of 4: Set up your trusted devices
• Make sure your country code is selected
• Enter a phone number where you can receive SMS messages under Phone Number
• Click Next
• Type the verification code received at the phone number and click verify
• You can add more phone numbers under Add another phone number…
• Click Continue
• Click Print Key to print a copy of your Apple ID recovery key
• Type the key from a printout under Enter your Recovery Key and confirm
• Tick that you have understood the conditions
• Click Enable two-step Verification
• Done

You will then need to create an app specific password for Grid 3:

• Make sure 2-step authentication is enabled for your iCloud Mail account (as above)
• Open Manage Your Apple ID and sign in
• Select an iOS device or phone number to receive a verification code for logging in with 2-step authentication under Verify Your Identity
• Type the verification code received under Enter Verification Code
• Click Edit in the Security section
• Select Generate Password… under APP-SPECIFIC PASSWORDS
• Enter the email program or service for use in which you create the password under Label (Grid 3)
• Click Create
• Enter the password immediately in the email program (case sensitive)
