Grid 3 failing to load on start up

The following fix is quite technical. Please contact our support team or your local dealer if you need assistance. 

If you have set Grid 3 to load on start up, but it isn’t working properly please follow these steps:

  • Add a Grid 3 shortcut to your start up folder
  • Search for the programme ‘run’ from your Windows start menu
  • Type Shell:startup
  • Copy the shortcut into this folder
  • Restart the device

If that doesn’t work, follow these steps to make changes in your devices registry, please note that if you are not familiar with editing the registry, ask for assistance as incorrect usages can cause issues.:

  • Run regedit.exe
  • Navigate to this registry key location:
  • Right click on the right side of the panel and go to New->String value to create a new string value that you can rename to run (“Grid 3”)
  • Double click your new string value and under “value data” enter the path to the programme:
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Smartbox\Grid 3\Grid 3.exe”
  • Restart the device
