Grid 3 is not able to update

When trying to run an update to Grid 3 and you see the error message ‘Unable to update file’, there are two possible causes:

  1. The update is being blocked by antivirus software. Check that all exceptions are in place following the guide here: https://thinksmartbox.com/answer/antivirus-updates/. After following the guide, restart your device and run Smartbox Update again.
  2. Some Sensory Software/Smartbox software is still running. Close all related processes in Task Manager (Ctrl – Alt – Delete and select Task Manager). These could potentially be: Grid 3 (32 bit), Licence Manager (32 bit), Sensory Speech (32 bit)
  3. Ensure you have a stable internet connect and maintain this throughout the update process.
