How do I import and export grid sets in The Grid 2?

You will often need to import or export grid sets from or to a particular location. A grid bundle is a way of saving all the grids and settings in your user (or grid set) to a file on your device. This file can be then used as a backup or sent to a different device. ( .bdl file)

Exporting a grid bundle

There are two ways to export a grid bundle in The Grid 2:

  • Whilst inside the user/grid set you want to backup, browse to File (in the top left corner) and select Backup User. You will be asked where you want to save the grid bundle on your PC.

  • Whilst in Grid Explorer, select the grid set you wish to backup and then select Save grid bundle from the menu on the left hand side. You will be asked to select where you wish to save the grid bundle on your PC.

Note: you will be prompted to select what to export – if you are taking a backup of the grid bundle, leave everything ticked. If you are planning to share the grid set, untick the bottom two options, as these may include personal information.

Importing a grid bundle

If someone has sent you a grid bundle file, or you have downloaded one from Online Grids to your computer, you can import it into The Grid 2 by selecting Import grid bundle from the Tools menu on the left hand side of Grid Explorer. You will be prompted to select the file you wish to import, then select Open to import the grid set.
