Languages reset after Windows 10 Anniversary update

Some users have found that the Windows 10 Anniversary update is removing language packs and reverting to English.

If on boot the language has reverted to English:

  • You may need to download your language pack again from All Settings – Time and Language – Region and Language
  • Now select Add a language.
  • Choose the language you need and Windows will search for the language pack
  • When available highlight the Language and select Options
  • On this new page select Download under Download Language Pack
  • Windows will now download the Language Pack
  • Once complete you will need to restart your device to set the Language as the default in Windows.

If you can already see languages installed you can re-select your default language pack again and restart your device.
