Sending Symbol based emails to a contact with an iPhone in Grid 3

If you are using the Simple Email grid set to send symbolised emails, your messages will no longer be displayed correctly on an iPhone or iPad. This is due to an update that removed support for MIME attachments in iOS 7 and above.

If you need to send an iOS user an email using symbols, we have created two grid sets:

Download the Simple Email MIME attachment grid sets

Add both grid set files to your user either by opening each file in Grid 3 or heading to Menu – Add – Grid set file.

Note you must install both grid sets to your user.

Create your symbol based email in the Simple Email MIME attachment part 1 grid set. When you select Contacts, your content will be copied to the Simple Email MIME attachment Part 2 grid set, which removes symbols and allows you to select your contact.

Using the Simple Email MIME Attachments with another grid set

If you want to include the Simple Email MIME Attachments grid within another grid set, note you only need to copy Part 1 into your grid set.

Do this from edit mode by heading to Grid set – Add from another grid set.

Choose the Simple Email MIME attachments part 1 grid set and tap Next.

Select every grid and select Add.

Create a Jump cell on your main grid set to the Symbol email home grid set.
