Using your BT Internet email account in Grid 3

BT Internet customers may find they are unable to send email through Grid software after correctly entering settings described at bt.custhelp.com.  Alternative settings that we’ve found work (at time of publication) are described below.

Grid 3

Select Settings from the ribbon
Select Accounts -> Email
Choose IMAP and SMTP accounts

Use the following Incoming settings:

– IMAP server address: mail.btinternet.com
– Port: 993
– Use SSL: On
– Email address: [username]@btinternet.com
– Username: [username]@btinternet.com
– Password: [the password you selected]

And the following Outgoing settings:

– SMTP server address: 587
– Use SSL: Off
– Use authentication: On
– Use incoming username and password: On

Test by clicking the Test button, then click OK.

The Grid 2

Select Edit > User Settings from the menu
Select the Workspaces > Email category

Use the following settings for both receiving and sending mail:

– Host: mail.btinternet.com
– Username: [username]@btinternet.com
– Password: [the password you selected]
– Requires SSL authentication: NO (un-ticked)
– Port: 110 (receiving) and 25 (sending)

Additionally:

– Reply address: [username]@btinternet.com
– Delete message from email server when read: YES (ticked)

Test by clicking Test Email Settings, then click Ok.
