Spotify skipping through songs in Grid 3

Spotify has made some changes to their website which have impacted how song playback works in Grid’s Spotify Accessible App grid set.

You may find that only a few seconds worth of music playback happens before Spotify skips to the next song.

How to keep your music playing

You will need either a connected speaker (Amazon Echo, Sonos, etc.), or to have the Spotify app installed on your device.

The Spotify Windows app can be downloaded here: https://www.spotify.com/us/download/windows/

Within the Spotify grid set, go to Tools – Play on..

On the left-hand side, you’ll be able to choose the device to play on.

If you have a Spotify Connect speaker available, you will be able to select this to play your music.

If you want your music to play through your device, you should see your device name – this is typically something like “DESKTOP-ABC123”.

Note that using the “Play on…” feature with any options aside from “This web browser” means that music playback continues even after the grid set has been closed.

You may need to set this option again upon device restart.

We are currently working to resolve this issue in a future update to Grid 3.
