The Grid 2 is running twice

Normally you can only run one “instance” of The Grid at a time. If you try to run the program twice, the second instance will not load (it will activate the first instance).

Sometimes you might end up with two copies of The Grid 2 running at once. This is not good because they can interfere with each other and cause problems.

We have noticed that a few people have experienced this problem because Windows is using two separate methods to start The Grid 2 when the computer turns on. Windows will start The Grid 2 when Windows starts if:

  • You tick the option in File > Preferences
  • If you have a shortcut to The Grid 2 in Start > All Programs > Startup

If you have both of these set, you may end up with two instances of The Grid 2. In this case, you should untick the option in The Grid 2 or remove the shortcut from Startup.
