To change the size of screen items in Windows

On small screen devices you may find items in the menu bars too small to use easily with a touch screen. Windows includes settings that allow the size of items on the screen to be changed.
There are two useful settings: ‘Display magnification’ and changing the font size of individual items. For some users the display magnification setting may provide enough control, but for others it may mean some dialog boxes become too large to fit on the screen. In this case it is possible to use a larger font for menu bars which makes them easier to use on touch screens. The instructions differ between Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Change display magnification – Windows 7.

Change font for menus and other items – Windows 7.

Change the size of items – Windows 8.
