User Permissions for Smartbox software

When managing multiple users on a network or in a school or business environment, it is common practise for an Administrator to configure Windows to restrict which files and parts of the computer you have access to.

Sensory Software programs require access to some files that are in the “protected” area, and so you may need allow access (depending on how your security is configured).

Full access is required to files under ‘Program Files’ and ‘Windowssystem32’ during installation from the distribution CD, licencing (ssLicence.exe) and updating (ssUpdate)

During operation, Grid 2 required full access to files under the ‘Users’ directory. This may be changed through File->Preferences dialog on the ‘File Locations’ tab. See Answer 149 for more details of the default location for User files. See Answer 152 for details of placeholders that may be specified in the path. The path may include UNC naming convention for networked locations.

Legacy titles may require full access to directories under Program Files. Please phone support for more details.

NOTE: As a result of the large files sizes likely to be encountered in the Users folders, we do not recomend using ‘roaming profiles’.
