Using symbols with typing in The Grid 2

The Grid 2.7 now has added extra symbol support for those who are learning to spell. Previously, the only way to select a symbol when using an on-screen keyboard was to choose a prediction cell.

Now, as the user spells out a word, symbols will appear in the workspace to match the current word.

In this example, as you spell ‘c’, ‘a’, ‘t’, a cat appears. Carry on spelling and a symbol appears for catch.

Commands

There are also come new commands associated with this:

1. Next symbol – if the symbol showing is not the one you want, you can select this cell until you find the correct matching symbol. For example, “hello” has several different options.

2. Clear symbol – if you do not wish to have an accompanying symbol at all, use this command.
