Why is there no sound in Grid Player / Grid for iPad?

There are a couple of reasons why voices may not be working. Please try the following to resolve the problem:

For Grid Player:

Check under the Settings cog -> Choose Voice to check there are voices listed.

If there are no voices, please select the Settings cog, then Support -> Refresh All.

Now check if the voices are showing in Settings-> Choose Voice.

Tip 2

Something else to check is the mute button, as some apps make a noise even if mute is turned on. This is the small slide switch on the side of the device, next to the volume icons.

If you can see the orange dot on the slide side switch, mute is turned on, so slide the switch to turn off. When doing so you should see the follow icon appear on the screen:

Tip 3

A final way to check if your device is muted, or if your device does not have a side switch, is to open the Control Centre by swiping up from the bottom of the display.

If your device is currently muted you will see the following icon:

Simply press the icon to unmute the device, and ensure that the volume is turned up.

 

For Grid for iPad:

  1. Click on the three dots in the top right hand corner
  2. Select Settings > Speech
  3. Check that  the volume is on under Configure
