Windows 10 update has broken Wi-Fi on my device

There have been a number of reports of a recent Windows 10 update (December 2016) knocking out internet connectivity. To fix this issue:

  • Click start
  • Click run
  • Type in “CMD” and press enter
  • This opens up a command prompt window
  • Now type in “ipconfig /release” and press enter
  • Finally, type in “ipconfig /renew” and press enter
  • Now try to go online to see if the connection is working

If this hasn’t resolved the issue, you can also clear the DNS settings.

  • To do this, open the command prompt window again
  • Now type in “ipconfig /flushdns” and press enter

Open your web browser and navigate to check if your connection is working.
