Administrator

Location: Malvern,UK
Contract: 5 days a week (full-time)
Salary: 21-23k Depending on experience

We are looking for an Administrator to join our Orders & Administration Team. We are passionate about user success and are always striving to achieve this. We need your help to continue to do this for more people. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about helping people. The role will involve a variety of administrative tasks, and customer service duties. Duties will include:

  • Processing sales orders in multiple currencies.
  • Providing quotations in multiple currencies, to UK customers and our worldwide partner network.
  • Proactively build strong relationships with our customers.
  • Liaise regularly with our Production Department to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Provide administrative support to our Assistive Technology, Finance, Marketing and R&D teams.
  • Prioritise and manage workload in alignment with your personal objectives and company goals.
  • Provide ad-hoc cover to sales ledger clerk with sales invoicing and collecting card payments.

Repairs Assistant

Location: Malvern,UK
Contract: 19 hours per week, office-based. Job Share, Wed-Fri

The main purpose of this role is to manage the logging, collection, booking in, and return of communication aids for repair. As a job-sharer, you need to be able to communicate well with your job partner to ensure continuity in the work. This role is part of a busy repair team with a varying daily workload so being able to manage your time and prioritise tasks is essential.

Repairs Assistant - Swapout

Location: Malvern,UK
Salary: £20,000- £22,000 per year, depends on experience
Contract: 5 days a week (full-time), office based

Quality Assurance Specialist

Location: Bristol, UK
Salary: £25k – 28k depends on experience
Contract: 5 days a week (full-time)

The successful candidate will be the gatekeeper of quality for our Grid software. Within our close-knit team, we are continually working on improvements and new features and you will play a key role in ensuring that these changes reach the end-user without any glitches, as well as being fit-for-purpose. We are a highly collaborative team, valuing everyone’s input and are looking for someone who is able to join group discussions and champion quality processes.

Day-to-day tasks are varied. One day you may need to verify that a software crash has been fixed. The next day, you may be comparing the performance of an eye gaze camera indoors versus outdoors in the bright sunshine. The next, you may be advising the Head of Software on improvements to quality processes. You will have responsibility for prioritising your daily workload and in doing so, we’ll be looking to you to keep the team updated on progress and potential issues. You will be comfortable corresponding with all areas of the company to understand what is important.

We are looking for someone to be proactive and take ownership of software quality assurance as a whole. You will be someone who enjoys thinking about our overall software quality and processes, and facilitating continuous improvement

We are in the process of expanding test automation within our software and your involvement in this will be vital. You will work with our software developers to understand the pain points of manual testing.

Content Assistant

Location: Bristol, UK
Salary: £23k per year
Contract: 5 days a week (full-time)

The successful candidate will join the Content Development team, and support them to develop and deliver first-class content for our Grid software. This content will be used by people with disabilities all over the world to enable them to communicate and live more independent lives.

The Content Development team aims to give a voice and independence to more people by developing innovative, market-leading, user-friendly content, that is led by research, customer needs and technology advances. The team also work to ensure that people succeed with our products by creating supporting materials such as manuals, explanatory videos and written content for the Grid Guide.

We are looking for someone with good knowledge and understanding of the needs of people who use AAC and Assistive Technology. The role will cover a wide range of tasks, including one-off projects as well as more regular duties. This will include working with our full range of content, including symbol communication, text communication, accessible apps and interactive learning. A key focus of the role will be to perform updates and maintenance to all of our Grid content, across all languages.

The successful candidate will become part of a talented, innovative and highly motivated team, working at one of the world’s leading AAC companies. Mechanical Engineer

Location: Bristol, UK
Salary: 27.5k Depending on experience
Contract: 5 days a week (full-time)

Smartbox require a Mechanical Engineer with expert CAD skills to work within the Hardware team. You will have electro-mechanical engineering experience in every stage of development: ODM selection, PRD development, EVT/DVT/PVT, and deployment into production.

  • In collaboration with a cross-functioning team and our ODM partners you will deliver our range of medical grade tablet computers and accessories.
  • Take ownership of all CAD, and all mechanical / electro-mechanical components.
  • Take a hands-on approach, as well leveraging external engineering and manufacturing companies to deliver user-centred product solutions.
  • Demonstrate world class mechanical engineering capability.
  • Engineering for electro-mechanical – specifically PCB’s, cables, connectors.
  • Engineering for drop, shock, vibration, accelerated life-test.
  • Engineering for injection moulding, casting, machining, fabrication.

Assistive Technology Specialist – North England, UK

Location: Remote (North England area)
Salary: Dependant on experience
Contract: 5 days a week (full-time)

As an AT Specialist, you will be responsible for proactively leading the sales within your area delivering on sales target set by the Head of UK Sales. Main areas of focus include increasing sales and awareness of Smartbox products and services within your area and seek new business opportunities whilst build trusting and long-term relationships with key customers.

Enhance and educate a new customer base developing new business and increasing revenue streams through Smartbox UK in line with targets and company goals.

This position will require a deep understanding of our products and the people we work with. It is vital that you are an ambassador for Smartbox and actively promote our mission, vision and values in your territory and be a charismatic champion of the Smartbox culture.

You will report to the Head of UK Sales, and the role will be based remotely with regular visits to our Head Office in Malvern, Worcestershire.
