An update is coming to the Change grid set command
The Change grid set command is a useful tool in Grid to help you quickly jump from one grid set to another.
In the next version of Grid, coming on 7 March, the command will include some new functionality:
- Your message is retained
If you type out a message on your grid set, and then jump to another grid set using the command, your message will be retained in your chat writing area when you return. Previously messages would have been lost when you switched between grid sets. This could be helpful if you are switching between grid sets in different languages.
- New back button functionality
It’s now possible to use the back button to take you back to your original grid set. Previously the back button would not function between different grid sets.
Adam explains the update in this video:
To get the new Change grid set command, make sure you have updated your software.

Use a switch to change grid set
By applying the Change grid set command to a switch, you can jump to a different grid set at any time simply by activating a switch.
For example, you could set your switch to open an eye gaze monitor grid set, allowing you to quickly check your eye gaze tracking status from any grid set.
When you select the back cell, you will then jump back to whichever grid set you were using previously, and retain any messages.
