The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in the UK has been investigating the purchase of Smartbox by Tobii and the inquiry is now in its final phase. The CMA shared in their provisional findings that the merged company may lead to less choice, lack of innovation and higher prices for people with speech and language disabilities in the UK
A final decision was due to be published by 25 July but this has now been extended by eight weeks. While the new deadline is 19 September, the CMA aims to complete the inquiry as soon as possible and before this date.
