As data security is always a topical conversation, we wanted to let you know that it is our goal to only ever take information that is relevant to help us deliver our service.
Grid 3 does not store any user data online. All data regarding your social and email accounts is stored locally and is never shared. To use Remote Editing features you must use a Dropbox account. This stores your grid set data, but does not store your user settings or accounts.
Remember that if you are using the Remote editing feature, only users you have given permission have access to your grid sets will have access, however data contained in the grid set is your responsibility.
When you create a user account in Grid 3 you will be notified of several Privacy settings, including learning predictions, recording chat history and using location data. This data is always stored locally and is not sent to Smartbox in any way.
Your Smartbox account lets you upload and share your grids online with Online Grids and send your grid sets to Grid Player. We encrypt your password and only require an email address for this service to work. When you send information to us we use HTTPS/SSL. Data we collect on usage, as well as any data you have sent (your grid sets shared with Grid Player) is stored in an Amazon S3 server within the EU.
Grid Player requires a Smartbox account to download and access grids. Your Apple device can be encrypted.
To share your grid sets on Online Grids you will need to have a Smartbox Account. If you choose to share a grid set online you should always ensure that it is free of personal data as they are available for everyone to download.
