New UK and Ireland regional voices

A selection of 30 brand-new SpeakUnique voices are coming to Grid

We are delighted to be introducing some brand-new voices to Grid early next year. You can preview a selection of the new adult male and female voices for the UK and Ireland below:

Alannah (Northern Irish, female)

Christina (North West England, female)

Danny (South East England, male)
–
Jamie (Yorkshire, male)

Rhys (Welsh, male)

–
Ross (Scottish borders, male)

–
Ruth (Scottish East Coast, female)

–
Sally (West Midlands, female)

–
The complete list includes a male and female voice for the following regions: England (North East, North West, East Midlands, West Midlands, Estuaries, Yorkshire, South West, South East) Scotland (East Coast, West Coast, Borders, Highlands), Ireland (Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland), and Wales.

Changing your voice in Grid

There are many voices to choose from in Grid 3 and Grid for iPad. You can explore all the voices available in Settings – Speech – Speaking – Voices.

Here you will see all the voices installed on your device and those that are available to download. There are voices for different genders, regional accents and voices for children.

To preview a voice, select Listen. Once you have found a voice you want to use, select Download to install it.

It’s also possible to adjust the speed, pitch and volume of your voice in Settings – Speech – Speaking – Configure.
