You can now use voices created with the SpeakUnique voice banking service in Grid for iPad. Helping you to get your message across in a voice that sounds like you.

Personalised voices are synthetic voices that are custom made for you. SpeakUnique offer several kinds of personalised voice, depending on your speech needs.

Getting started

Once you have your SpeakUnique personalised voice, follow the steps below to start using it in Grid.

• Open your Grid for iPad Settings – Speech
• Select SpeakUnique listed under Voice providers
• Login using your SpeakUnique Username and Password
• Select Speaking Voice, and choose your personalised voice

Bank Your Voice With SpeakUnique

You can bank your voice with SpeakUnique, both on their website and through I Will Always Be Me. Personalised synthetic voices created through either service can then be used in Grid.

To get started, register for an account and follow the steps to bank your voice. SpeakUnique will then generate your banked voice and notify you when it’s ready.

For anyone living with MND in the UK, the MND Association or MND Scotland will fund your voice banking. For individuals living with other neurodegenerative diseases such as Multiple System Atrophy, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Corticobasal Degeneration, there are other charities that can help with funding.
