New and more stable Grid 

We are delighted to share we will be updating Grid from 32-bit to 64-bit software architecture in the June Grid update.

This is an important upgrade that brings a number of benefits, including making Grid more stable and aligning it with the latest hardware.  

 

What makes 64-bit better?

Improved stability
Most crashes in Grid are caused by the software running out of memory. Upgrading to 64-bit will eliminate almost all of these memory crashes, making the software far more stable.   

Get more from your computer
64-bit Grid will be able to make full use of the hardware you are using. 32-bit Grid could only make use of 2GB of RAM, regardless of the capabilities of your device.

What do users think? 

Throughout the development of this upgrade, we have carried out extensive user testing. This helps us understand how the new version improves user experience and if there are any features we need to improve.   

Through this testing, we have discovered that the upgrade will provide a significant reduction in crashes and an overall better user experience.

FAQs

When can I get this upgrade?
The 64-bit version of Grid will be available on 10 June (version 93).

How do I update?
Check out this support article on how to update Grid 3. 

Are there any features or devices that are not compatible with this update?
The myGaze and LC eye trackers, plus older legacy devices that run on a 32-bit version of Windows are not compatible with this upgrade. However, you can continue to use Grid on these devices by running Grid version 92 or earlier. To check which version of Windows your device uses, please refer to this support article from Microsoft.   

Please note the SeeTech eye tracker will be compatible later in 2024.
